Dynamic Stabilization (Wellex Implant)
Dynamic stabilization provides vital support for the spine in the case of spinal deformity or degenerative discs, and is an alternative to standard spinal fusion techniques. This procedure retains some of the mobility in the spine, whereas fusion eliminates all movement for complete stabilization. Dynamic stabilization will not be the right option for all patients, and to determine if this is the best course for you, please call us.
In terms of recovery time, dynamic stabilization is comparable to traditional fusion surgeries. Many patients will be released from care the same day, though some may be required to stay a day or two for observation, depending on their progress healing and any other underlying conditions.
Most patients are able to return to their normal routines within six weeks, but this varies considerably from one patient to another. It is important that you do not engage in any activity that our doctors has not released you for, or you risk complicating the healing process.
Minimally Invasive Spinal
Minimally invasive spine surgery is a type of surgery on the bones of your spine (backbone). This type of surgery uses smaller incisions than standard surgery. This often causes less harm to nearby muscles and other tissues. It can lead to less pain and faster recovery after surgery.
Most people who have back pain will not need surgery. Our doctos might advise spine surgery if you have a back problem that hasn't gotten better with another treatment, such as medicine or physical therapy. If you still have a lot of pain, surgery on your spine might fix the problem.
Knee Replacement
Knee replacement, also called knee arthroplasty or total knee replacement, is a surgical procedure to resurface a knee damaged by arthritis. Metal and plastic parts are used to cap the ends of the bones that form the knee joint, along with the kneecap. This surgery may be considered for someone who has severe arthritis or a severe knee injury.
The goal of knee replacement surgery is to resurface the parts of the knee joint that have been damaged and to relieve knee pain that cannot be controlled by other treatments.
Knee Arthroscopy
Is a surgical technique that can diagnose and treat problems in the knee joint. During the procedure, your surgeon will make a very small incision and insert a tiny camera into your knee. This allows them to view the inside of the joint on a screen. The surgeon can then investigate a problem with the knee and, if necessary, correct the issue using small instruments within the arthroscope.
Our doctors may recommend that you undergo a knee arthroscopy if you’re experiencing knee pain. Your doctor might have already diagnosed the condition causing your pain, or they may order the arthroscopy to help find a diagnosis. In either case, an arthroscopy is a useful way for doctors to confirm the source of knee pain and treat the problem.
Rotator Cuff Repair
Rotator cuff repair is surgery to repair a torn tendon in the shoulder. The procedure can be done with a large (open) incision or with shoulder arthroscopy, which uses smaller incisions.
The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that form a cuff over the shoulder joint. These muscles and tendons hold the arm in its joint and help the shoulder joint to move. The tendons can be torn from overuse or injury.
You will likely receive general anesthesia before this surgery. This means you will be asleep and unable to feel pain. Or, you will have regional anesthesia. Your arm and shoulder area will be numbed so that you do not feel any pain. If you receive regional anesthesia, you will also be given medicine to make you very sleepy during the operation.
Hip Resurfacing
Hip resurfacing is a type of hip replacement which replaces the surfaces of the hip joint. The procedure preserves more bone than a total hip replacement. The head of the femur or 'ball' is not removed but is reshaped to allow a metal cap to be cemented on top of it. The surface of the acetabulum “the socket” is also replaced with a metal implant which is wedged directly into the bone. The resurfacing is made of a cobalt chrome which is highly finished to produce very low wear rates.
Hip Replacement
Hip replacement surgery is a procedure in which a doctor surgically removes a painful hip joint with arthritis and replaces it with an artificial joint often made from metal and plastic components. It usually is done when all other treatment options have failed to provide adequate pain relief. The procedure should relieve a painful hip joint, making walking easier.
Wrist Arthroscopy
Wrist arthroscopy is surgery that uses a tiny camera and surgical tools to examine or repair the tissues inside or around your wrist. The procedure allows the doctor to detect problems and make repairs to the wrist without making larger cuts in the skin and tissue. This means that you may have less pain and recover more quickly than open surgery.
You will likely receive general anesthesia before this surgery. This means you will be asleep and unable to feel pain. Or, you will have regional anesthesia. Your arm and wrist area will be numbed so that you do not feel any pain. If you receive regional anesthesia, you will also be given medicine to make you very sleepy during the operation.
Your surgeon may need to do open surgery if there is a lot of damage. Open surgery means you will have a large incision so that the surgeon can get directly to your bones and tissues.
ACL repair
ACL reconstruction is surgery to replace a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) — a major ligament in your knee. ACL injuries most commonly occur during sports that involve sudden stops and changes in direction.
In ACL reconstruction, the torn ligament is removed and replaced with a piece of tendon from another part of your knee or from a deceased donor. This surgery is an outpatient procedure that's performed through small incisions around your knee joint.
ACL repair with graft
ACL reconstruction is a surgical procedure to make a new ligament for someone who has sustained an ACL tear. Once an individual has decided to have surgery, they will need to decide how the surgery will be performed. The most common question patients face is: which type of ACL graft should they choose?
The ACL graft is the type of tissue used to make a new ligament. ACL reconstruction can be done with several different graft choices. These most common options include patellar tendon, hamstring tendon, and donor tissue . Each of these choices has advantages and disadvantages. In your initial evaluation our surgeon will explaing to you in detailed to see what is the best option for you.
Shoulder Arthroscopy
Shoulder arthroscopy is surgery that uses a tiny camera called an arthroscope to examine or repair the tissues inside or around your shoulder joint. The arthroscope is inserted through a small incision in your skin.
The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and their tendons that form a cuff over the shoulder joint. These muscles and tendons hold the arm in the shoulder joint. This also helps the shoulder move in different directions. The tendons in the rotator cuff can tear when they are overused or injured.
You will likely receive general anesthesia for this surgery. This means you will be asleep and unable to feel pain. Or, you may have regional anesthesia. Your arm and shoulder area will be numbed, as a result you do not feel any pain. If you receive regional anesthesia, you will also be given medicine to make you very sleepy during the operation.
Your surgeon may need to do open surgery if there is a lot of damage. Open surgery means you will have a large incision so that the surgeon can get directly to your bones and tissues.
Meniscus repair
A meniscal repair is a surgical procedure to repair a torn meniscus via keyhole surgery. It is a minimally invasive procedure often undergone as an outpatient. Factors affecting success include tear age, location and pattern, age of the patient, as well as any associated injuries.
