Mommy Makeover
The mommy makeover is one of today's most popular combination plastic surgery techniques, designed specifically to address common issues faced by women who have been through pregnancy and breastfeeding. The surgical technique has found its way into mainstream media with it becoming the procedure of choice among Hollywood elite.
"Mommy makeover" is a catch-all phrase that refers to a specialized combination of body contouring procedures, performed together to improve the physical changes that linger long after pregnancy. One reason for its popularity is that the mommy makeover has no set components; each procedure is custom-tailored to fit the individual patient's unique needs. However, the surgical approach generally starts with a breast and abdomen contouring procedure, then adding additional elements as needed.
Your mommy makeover may include; Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Breast Reduction, Tummy Tuck, Circumferential Abdominoplasty, Liposuction.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas. Other names for liposuction include lipoplasty and body contouring.
Liposuction isn't typically considered an overall weight-loss method or a weight-loss alternative. If you're overweight, you're likely to lose more weight through diet and exercise or through bariatric procedures — such as gastric bypass surgery — than you would with liposuction.
You may be a candidate for liposuction if you have too much body fat in specific spots but otherwise have a stable body weight.
Calf implants
Calf augmentation surgery places a flexible, but solid silicone implant into the lower leg’s natural contours to enhance the size and definition of the calves. Calf implants is often requested by body builders who want larger, more muscular-looking legs as well as patients who want to correct an imbalance or physical deformity created by a medical condition or injury. Calf implants have become a very popular procedure in recent years and can help to boost your self-confidence with stronger, muscular legs.
A common method used during this procedure places a silicone implant through a small incision made behind the knee. The implant is positioned into a pocket surgically created within the calf muscle. Depending on the desired result, a second implant may be placed alongside the first to give the calf greater shape. Surgical sutures close the skin. Following surgery, the implant will become enclosed by scar tissue. This is a natural implant process and helps the device stay in tact so it can remain in place for years.
Tummy Tuck Abdominoplasty
If you've got too much flab or excess skin in your abdomen that doesn't respond to diet or exercise, you may be considering a "tummy tuck," which doctors call "abdominoplasty."
This surgery flattens the abdomen by removing extra fat and skin, and tightening muscles in your abdominal wall.
It's not the same as liposuction, although you may choose to get liposuction along with a tummy tuck.
A tummy tuck is suitable for men and women who are in good health.
Women who have had several pregnancies may find the procedure useful for tightening their abdominal muscles and reducing skin.
A tummy tuck is also an option for men or women who were once obese and still have excess fat deposits or loose skin around the belly.
Vaginal reconstruction Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty (also known as posterior colporrhaphy) is a procedure designed to tighten the vagina. An alternative is noninvasive vaginal tightening through heating tissues with radiofrequency waves or laser. Patients with significant laxity may not experience a benefit from these treatments and may be better candidates for surgical tightening with vaginoplasty.
Butt implants
Buttock augmentation, or gluteal augmentation, is used to improve the contour, size and/or shape of the buttocks. This is done through the use of buttock implants, fat grafting or sometimes a combination of the two.
Buttock implants are silicone-filled devices that are surgically placed deep within the tissues of the buttock. Buttock augmentation through the use of fat grafting involves the transfer of fat from one area of the body into the tissues of the buttocks.
In addition to buttock augmentation procedures, a buttock lift can be accomplished by the surgical removal of soft tissue.
Brazilian Butt lift
A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks without implants. Excess fat is removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction, and a portion of this fat is then strategically injected into the buttocks.
A skilled cosmetic surgeon can improve the proportions of the entire lower body with Brazilian butt lift surgery, helping a patient lose fat in common “problem areas” and enhance the buttocks, with results lasting many years.
Arm lift brachioplasty
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that reduces excess sagging skin that droops downward, tightens and smoothes the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm and reduces localized pockets of fat in the upper arm region. Fluctuations in weight, growing older and heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. This is a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise.
Labiaplasty
A labiaplasty is a surgical procedure done to reshape a woman's labia minora—the inner "lips" of the vulva. Labia size and shape is as individual as eye color, and the range of what's "normal" is wide and deep. However, when a woman's labia are especially elongated, the excess tissue can cause discomfort or get in the way of normal function.
There are women who decide to have a labiaplasty for aesthetic reasons, some who view their inner labia as abnormally long may feel self-conscious about the outward appearance of their genitalia, causing them emotional or psychological distress during sex or while wearing a thong or swimsuit.
Lap-band
The LAP BAND® is a specific device brand name used in the lay community interchangeable with gastric banding. There are different sizes and models of the LAP BAND. There are also other companies that make gastric banding devices.
Generally, candidates for LAGB have a body mass index over 40 kg/m2, or are more than 45 kilograms over their ideal body weight.
All patients must demonstrate an understanding of the procedure, and be willing to adhere to the lifestyle changes that are needed to make this procedure successful.
